Storms

Nobody can survive their entire life without being leveled by a few personal storms. Whether they be financial, spiritual, physical, or with your relationships.

Most people shy away from storms—my old self included, when my first wife passed. I weaponized blame, and used it to cope, not realizing it snatched the benefits of the storm from right under me.

But this storm caused me to have an epiphany:

Just as nature needs natural storms to cleanse and blow out dead debris for new life, humans need personal storms to make us stronger, more resilient, and redefine our life’s purpose.

In this episode, you’ll discover why every storm has a silver lining—no matter how hopeless it seems at the moment. Plus, I’ll give you a few simple techniques to overcome storms easier.

Listen now.

Show Highlights Include:

  • How scripture can help you survive the darkest storms of your life (even if you’re not religious) ([1:18])
  • Why writing down your most humiliating failures helps you conquer your next one with ease ([7:56])
  • The “Sanctuary Moment” secret for transforming gut-wrenching misery into unprecedented trump ([8:33])
  • How to create hope out of thin air—even in the darkest times of your life—by making one simple choice ([12:25])
  • 3 questions to ask yourself in the midst of a storm to come out of it a stronger person ([13:41])

Show Highlights Include:

  • How the language you use cheapens the power of hope ([2:38])
  • A definition that will help you understand hope better than ever before ([5:09])

Failure 2.0

Napoleon Hill, the author of Think and Grow Rich, said one of the most common causes of failure is quitting when overtaken by temporary defeat.

For example, during the gold rush, a young man and his uncle drilled for gold for months on end. Then, they gave up, and sold their equipment to the “junkman” who found out they were only 3 feet away from striking gold.

Everybody faces temporary defeats in the game of life. But if you don’t quit  and keep standing, success is closer than you think.

In this episode, you’ll discover how to bounce back from failure and temporary defeat, so you can achieve exceptional success.

Listen now.

Show Highlights Include:

  • Why failure is the trademark of success (and how to get comfortable with failure) ([0:50])
  • A world-renowned psychologist’s “Capitalization” secret for earning tremendous growth (even if you’re not the most talented or successful) ([1:32])
  • How making failure your friend unleashes achievement, growth, and happiness in your life ([2:43])
  • The “Fail Forward” technique created by one of the world’s best leaders for using your mistakes as a stepping stone for success ([3:32])
  • The insidious way temporary defeat tricks you into giving up when you’re inches away from jaw-dropping riches ([7:50])
  • 2 things that saved me from immeasurable grief and despair when my first wife passed (and how to use them whenever tragedy strikes your life) ([11:29])

Failure

Most people shy away from failure. It’s embarrassing. It hurts. And we’ve been taught to avoid failure since we were children.

But this is a mistake. Just ask legends like the late, great Kobe Bryant, Michael Jordan, and even Coca-Cola’s former CEO Muhtar Kent. Each of them embraced failure — and achieved more success than most can dream about.

Here’s the truth:

The only way to achieve sustainable success is by embracing failure.

In this episode, you’ll discover how to turn failures into competitive advantages you can use in any area of your life.

Listen now.

Show Highlights Include:

  • The “Competitor’s Secret” for using their most gut-wrenching failures to fuel their long-term success ([0:39])
  • How your fear of making mistakes cripples you success (and how to overcome your fear of failure) ([1:04])
  • The “Celebrate Failure” method from Coca-Cola’s former CEO for embracing mistakes and growing because of them ([1:27])
  • How to create an unfair competitive advantage in anything you try by forcing yourself to fail ([4:43])
  • The “PMI” daily exercise for transforming every failure you encounter into an opportunity ([10:57])

Quality 2.0

In today’s social media-run world, most people do everything in their power to appear perfect. Nothing has compromised quality more than this.

Why?

Even though perfection ought to be the standard, it’s impossible to achieve it. When you put perfection on a pedestal, you make it impossible to learn from your failures. And nothing enhances your quality as a person more than learning from your mistakes.

In this episode, you’ll discover why being a quality person today gives you an unfair advantage in anything you do. And how to build your quality little by little each and every day.

Listen now.

Show Highlights Include:

  • Why paying the price for quality now returns your “investment” in droves down the road ([0:49])
  • The insidious way the false appearance of perfection comprises quality (and why your imperfections make you a high-quality person) ([3:10])
  • Michael Jordan’s secret for failing your way to becoming the all-time greatest at what you do ([3:23])
  • The weird way to multiply your quality as a person by buying more expensive material items ([7:35])
  • The two words which appear in the bible 455 times (and how to become excellent at both of them) ([9:37])

Quality

Growing up, our parents drilled the importance of quality into our heads. But today, it seems like nobody teaches the value of quality anymore.

And it’s a shame because quality never goes out of style. In fact, becoming a quality person is the best way to improve your relationships, become happier, and serve your true purpose.

In this episode, you’ll discover why quality unlocks your best life. And the insidious reason quality doesn’t get taught today.

Listen now.

Show Highlights Include:

  • The “Extra Added Effort” technique for intoxicating every person you meet ([1:17])
  • The weird way eating off a garage floor makes you a better person (even if it’s not your garage) ([1:35])
  • How to leverage your most gut-wrenching failures to expand the quality of your life ([6:06])
  • How to minimize your risk of making mistakes before you even have a chance to make them ([6:26])
