Ruts

All of us can get stuck in a rut. We feel defeated, worried, and overwhelmed at everything. There is no forward momentum and life feels full of excuses.

Being in a rut is a breeding ground for entropy. And that’s when you start to feel stuck indefinitely. Pulling yourself out of a rut requires nurturing, love, and feelings of joy.

You can’t pull yourself out of a rut when you’re stuck in your own head.

In this episode, you’ll discover how to experience more joy in any environment and win the day.

Show Highlights Include:

  • Using NPR’s Pandemic Research to find joy and inspiration (when you’ve got yourself stuck in a rut). ([1:36])
  • Apostle Paul’s advice for calling on your most powerful emotions to create the future you want. ([3:42])
  • The ‘Why’ Theory for replacing your most negative feelings with drive and purpose.  ([7:30])
  • How to create opportunity anywhere in life using a wizard, chicken sandwich, and mouse.  ([8:43])
  • How to unleash your imagination and win the day using Martin Luther King Jr’s measurement of time.  ([10:20])

Future

While February is a time to reflect on the accomplishments of Black History, it is also a time to speak on the future. America feels more divided than ever these days. But where there is hope, there is faith.

Hope brings together battered societies for a better tomorrow. It is the peace and unity when everything seems divided. Hope is more than a belief, it is a way of life.

In this episode, you’ll discover how to honor the past and build a better future through the power of hope.

Show Highlights Include:

  • How to unlock MLK’s powerhouse of hope for unlimited potential in your future. ([1:16])
  • A homicide investigator’s advice on living with peace and unity (no matter what comes your way). ([4:17])
  • Using the ‘Hope’ lens to bring divisive societies together for a better tomorrow.  ([6:27])
  • How to lead your life with freedom and hope (while inspiring others to do the same).  ([8:50])

Focus

Focusing often holds a negative connotation. Most people feel that they have to force themselves to focus. And when you draw all your attention on one thing, it can feel like a burden.

You struggle with the pressure of accomplishment. And everything seems to be on the line for this one thing. How do people enjoy the process when they have to focus?

Focusing is a required part of your journey (but shouldn’t ruin the moment). When you use your focus as a strength, there is more enjoyment and fulfillment in reaching your goals. And when you dedicate yourself to the process, winning is not the only accomplishment.

In this episode, you’ll discover how to focus with more intention and enjoyment (instead of stress).

Show Highlights Include:

  • How to transform a ‘Forced Focus’ mindset into embracing your goals. ([2:22])
  • The Vince Lombardi way to relentlessly pursue perfection and enjoy the process. ([4:35])
  • A figure skater’s theory on establishing a winning mindset (with the most fulfillment).  ([5:23])
  • How to strengthen your focus and become more present through the Mamba Mentality.  ([7:42])
  • How to stop burdening yourself with accomplishment and appreciate the journey.  ([10:03])

Listening

When you think about good communicators, you might think about charismatic salespeople, eloquent writers or creative artists.

If you think that way, it’s hard to think you could become great at communication–you can’t copy a skill someone built over decades, right?

But the most important listening skill is available to you right now. It’s something you can do every second of every conversation.

If you listen well, you pay more attention to the people around you and treat them with more kindness, respect and awareness.

And when you treat people well, your relationships improve. You could even advance your career because you understand your colleagues more.

Want to find out how listening can transform your life? Listen now!

Show highlights include:

  • Why one of the world’s foremost business experts considers listening the most important communication skill. ([1:50])
  • How technology is sabotaging your ability to pay attention, listen and concentrate (and how to reverse its harmful impact) ([2:55])
  • The “Talking is King” mistake that makes you talk too much and listen too little. ([5:22])
  • The toxic communication habit that makes us pay less attention to others (even if you’re listening to every word) ([7:37])

When you choose excellence, you’ll feel empowered to tackle any challenge and inspire the people around you to become excellent as well.

In this episode, you’ll find out how to choose excellence to become the best version of you possible.

Want to excel and inspire everyone around you? Listen now!

Offended

We have all been offended at some point in our lives. And whether the person knows they offended you, it felt traumatizing.

When you feel doubt and disappointment in someone, it’s impossible to see past the situation. You never resolve things and still feel the pain from yesterday.

But refusing to let go only tarnishes your future. You can’t feel kindness from others or find new opportunities. Learning not to be offended is the highest form of freedom to yourself. You choose what controls you.

In this episode, you’ll discover the freedom of not getting offended (and how to move through your past).

Show Highlights Include:

  • How to soothe your sensitive spirit (when you feel like exploding into anger). ([0:52])
  • The two emotions blocking you from having healthy conversations and healing pain. ([2:00])
  • Using John the Baptist to heal from offensive situations and be greater than grudges. ([5:26])
  • Why you can lose the anger and release the resentment (without being offended again).  ([8:30])

Best of 2021: Three Bad Words

There’s a famous saying that you should “never underestimate the power of your words.” But how many people actually understand the magnitude of that power? I’ll give you a hint – most people think their words are completely harmless.

The power of words has a ‘ripple effect’ on your life. When you think and speak better, you act better. Are your thoughts healing or harming the bigger picture?

In this episode, I’ll discuss the profound power of how you speak and three words you can avoid right now for personal growth beyond measure.

Show Highlights Include:

  • The historical damage of words and how to reinforce a greater message for your future. ([0:57])
  • Why passive thoughts cause more arguments – and the simple shift in vocabulary to communicate better now. ([4:40])
  • Why gratification and greater brain health start with turning everything into a Google-searching game. ([7:19])
  • The ‘classic excuse’ you should ditch to quickly fuel your creativity, get rid of fears, and take life to the next level. ([11:19])

Details

Some say that attention to details can make all the difference. And while perfection is rarely attainable, imagine what one accomplishes when they try.

When you concentrate on the details, you make something great. The efforts are worth the results and there is no greater outcome. It is not about chasing perfection, but excellence. And it is worth waiting to get it right.

In this episode, you’ll learn why attention to details makes all the difference in your success.

Show Highlights Include:

  • Using the wise words from a painter, pastor, and football coach to accomplish great things. ([1:00])
  • Why you should use ‘Picasso Precision’ for everything you do in life (even the small things). ([4:00])
  • How to keep every detail in sync and win championships like Vince Lombardi and John Madden. ([6:52])
  • The Mindcraft Mentality for remaining faithful to details (and wherever they may lead). ([11:55])
